Hello, all. This is an enhanced version of SpectreWrite Pro v2.1. I have received numerous complaints from users of HyperCard 2.0 and 2.2 that they couldn't get SpectreWrite to work properly. As such, this stack is a standalone and should work on all computers that can run Hypercard 2.1 (anything higher than a Mac Plus). The requirements to use this stack are 1.1 megs of disk space and a minimum of 1.3 megs of RAM. It runs best with 2 megs of RAM. I hope you like this. Spectral Design is currently working on a very much improved word processor that will be faster by using our SpecChek XCFNs and will have a slicker interface. Enjoy!
Please excuse the About and Help files in PhantomWrite. I have not yet changed them so they still refer to the program as SpectreWrite Pro v2.1 which it is essentially. Since the next version will indeed be PhantomWrite and will be an improved version I decided I might as well just make this version PhantomWrite v1.0.
In this archive is the latest version of the most powerful HyperCard word processor around. It is also the only shareware word processor that offers a real working spell cehcking system with a 46,000 word dictionary. Here are the main features you will find in this version of PhantomWrite v1.0:
-A ruler to help align text
-open and save text and rtf files.....even files bigger than 42k. It will also open
non-text files and show what is in the file.
-The new feature here is that you can make your Mac more like a typewriter. This is
good if you miss the clickety clack of old fashioned typewriters.
-Spell checking with a 46,000 word dictionary and a custom dictionary.
-Align text to the left, center or right
-AutoSave feature to ensure that your work doesn't get lost.
-Encryption and Decryption for private files.
